That becomes a lot easier to swallow if you're at least collecting enough money to break even on the servers you need, and even easier if it puts a little cash in your pocket each month. So to me, running unofficials seems a lot like paying money (to rent the server) just to take abuse from a bunch of ungrateful dilos. Any server discord I've sat in for a while, the admins and owners take so much poop, and even the 10-25% that are legitimate concerns are usually presented as, "you're the worst the scum of the earth, how could you as an admin let this happen to ME!" It's a bit better on whitelisted servers, but it still seems to get ugly often enough. On the other hand, I think one of the biggest reasons unofficials often don't last is that it's so low reward for admins and owners.

Obviously there's a lot of disappointment around the existing official servers right now, which makes this a timely question. What I'm mostly interested in, is if someone offered you your version of the perfect Ark experience, would you pay a monthly membership fee for it or nah? We can debate for days what the "perfect" unofficial cluster might look like, and I'm curious what others think, that's not the core point of this post. I've been wondering for a while if people are theoretically willing to pay a membership fee to play on an amazing cluster of unofficial servers?
